Program Details
For
children ages 5 through 12, Kids ‘R’ Kids offers what parents are
looking for ~ a safe environment for additional learning/study
time and supervised activities.
Many families must choose a program that fits their child’s
year-round schedule as it pertains to elementary school, summer
activities and holidays. Kids ‘R’ Kids uses a Monthly Idea
Calendar that offers daily activity suggestions.
Our before and after school program offers the school-age child
a welcomed break from the structured academic learning to a
variety of Activity Zones to further enhance a child’s
creativity, problem-solving, and decision making skills. In our
fun, productive and supervised environment each child also has
the opportunity to develop special friendships.
By meeting with parents, our teachers can determine what each
child requires after school. Perhaps an older child needs more
help in order to complete homework assignments, or a younger
child may need special tutoring in reading or math. This also is
a good time to let the children learn more about computers,
which are available at the school. But our teachers know that
after a busy day at school, children need time to play.
Supervised playgrounds are divided by age groups and give each
child the chance to direct that special energy only children
have.
The Kids ‘R’ Kids school age program is designed to extend your
child’s academic learning from the traditional classroom setting
into our quality learning center.
Winter,
Spring and Summer Camps
The school-age
camp experience includes exciting themes that form daily
activities and scheduled field trips that consist of bowling, skating,
parks, picnics, special guest visitors and more. Ask for more
details about schedules and specific themes. At Kids ‘R’ Kids,
camps are filled with fun, friends and memories.

Your Child’s Classroom
Our gym is “the place” for school age children.
Before and after school they can be found playing games, hanging
out with friends, engaged in a project or enjoying our special
age appropriate playground.
We want
families to feel secure regarding the care of their children.
Family members have the ability and pleasure of viewing their
child from their personal computer at home or work by using a
private password to gain entrance to our video camera system,
Watch Me Grow. Parents can observe their child in the classroom,
the Kids’ Café, the Learning Center and on the playground.
Each
classroom, including the gym, is equipment with “boy” and “girl”
restrooms as well as hand washing sink for optimal convenience.

How We Communicate
Communication is an essential component of the high-quality care
here at Kids ‘R’ Kids.
Daily conversations,
telephone calls, newsletters, parent/teacher conferences and

informed and involved.
All of
our classrooms, including the gym, are equipped with telephones
and you are welcome to call at any time of the day to check in
and see how your child is doing or share information too lengthy
or private to share during drop-off time.

Useful Tips
Drop-Off Schedule
If you have two or more children in our care, we ask that you
drop off your older
child(ren) before you enter the infant or toddler areas. Please
pick your infant or toddler up first to reduce traffic and
exposure to illness and germs in the younger children’s area. We
also recommend that parents with more than one child in the
school stagger pick up times to ensure timely pickup. For
example, schedule your baby’s pickup time at 6:00 PM and your
preschooler’s pickup time at 6:15 PM. That way, if you want to
spend time talking with your child’s teacher, you will not be
late picking up your preschool child.
Infection Control Policy
Maintaining health and preventing the spread of contagious
diseases are responsibilities shared by parents and our staff.
Our staff is trained in illness-prevention practices that limit
the spread of infections. Regular laundering of naptime sheets
and blankets, the use of gloves during diaper changing and the
employment of the proper cleansing agents, help in reducing the
spread of infections. Most colds and viruses are spread through
fecal/oral contamination. For this reason, our diapering
procedure is posted and is followed without exception. We ask
that you also follow our procedures when changing your child at
school.
A complete copy of our
Health Policy can be found in your Parent Handbook. We ask that
you work with us to help maintain a healthy environment. Our
experience is that if parents practice a “no
sick children at school”
policy, in the long run, all children will be healthier and
parents will miss less work.
